Advanced Life Support

The Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District currently staffs three ambulances at an ALS level. These units are equipped with top-tier equipment and personnel to serve our citizens quickly and effectively.

ISO Class 2 Fire Department

The Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District covers roughly 25 sq. miles of South Carolina lowcountry. Our area is currently protected by four stations, each equipped with a Fire Engine or Aerial.

Water Rescue

Due to the location of our District to various bodies of water, our Department is currently equipped and ready to respond to a number of water based emergencies by boat, Jet-Ski or surf rescue.

Fire Protection and Medical Services

> Combination Department

Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District is a combination Dept. with 60 career members and 9 volunteers. Our department runs on the traditional "24 on 48 off" schedule for our career personnel.

> Fire and EMS Community Training Center

The Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District is able to offer the full catalog of American Heart Association Classes as well as a variety of fire education and fire prevention programs.

Our Fire District has a rich history of serving our community's needs. While the size and scope of our community has changed a lot since 1966, our Fire District has kept pace with the needs of our citizens and our community as a whole; whether for fire suppression or advanced medical care.

> Highly trained and dedicated Firefighters

The Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District has a large family of well-trained and dedicated Emergency Responders. Our Firefighters train hard and they train often; learning techniques and methods from not only our own training division, but from instructors and training courses from across the country. Our Paramedics and EMTs receive the most up to date training possible and are certified in a number of medical treatment methodolgies.
